Wiphala, Diablda

In A Message to the Future, a Note from the Past, two artists explore language as something that requires human interaction, and a community of people using the language, in order to keep it alive— or bring it to life.

Jess Montecinos’ multimedia installation Wiphala, Diablada passes Bolivian stories and culture onto future generations in an attempt to preserve and solidify a future for the Quechua language.
