Ceramic Stories [ Digital Connections]

Ceramic Stories [digital connections] presents diverse ceramic sculptures, objects and installations fused with digital activations.

Four Sydney emerging ceramics artists are brought together to tell stories of their cultural backgrounds on playful childhood memories, sacred geometry and classic Indian architecture, materiality, Chinese literature and more. Guest curator Elaine Kim, with the help of the Australian Design Center team, created a space where handcrafted materials meet technology, exhibiting new ways of engagement.

Jess worked with Midori Goto’s pieces to enhance the playfulness of childhood, a reflection of Midori’s work. The digital interactions paired with Midori's Goto work is a representation of the inner child aura that continues to stay in each of us. Fleeting shadows accompanied by a sweet child's laughter; the interactive component adds another dimension to Midori's playful sculptures.

Artists featured are Casey Chen, Sebastian Conti, Sarah Eddowes and Midori Goto.

Digital interactions were developed by June Kim with assistance from Jess Montecinos and Fiona Jung.
