Separation

In 'Separation', Jess explores the fusion of physical and virtual drawing through the transformative power of projection mapping. Straying away from conventions of “conceptual-based” contemporary drawing practices set in the 20th century, this work invites the viewers to engage with a digital medium that celebrates the form, the medium and the unconscious experience.

Drawing from geometry, ‘Separation’ focuses on the line, the precision & the separation between the act of drawing and the drawn work. Each act of drawing is calculated and thought out, and each line is placed in a precise position. A single line zoomed out to reveal a web of perfectly coordinated shapes. Jess uses projection mapping technology to allow the drawing to transcend the constraints of its physical form, compelling us to reconsider our relationship with geometric shapes and drawing
